IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR ALL 2026 APPLICANTS

From Friday, 1 November 2024, The Gap Network will open for ‘Expressions of Interest’ for 2026 placements at UK schools. 

Our application process is changing slightly in response to conditions within the sector. We remain heavily subscribed and as a premium provider, we want to ensure that all young people choosing to work with The Gap Network have the highest possible chance of gaining a school placement.

We ask that young people interested in our program submit a brief initial ‘Expression of Interest’. This should not take much time, there is no charge at this point and we will provide you with an individualised response recommending how to proceed. Please note that we operate a selective recruitment process, work only with UK schools and do not place people within summer camps or the hospitality industry.

How to make your ‘Expression of Interest’:  Please send a brief email (to: info@thegapnetwork.org) answering the following 6 questions and attach your personal resume (Max 2 pages A4, including passport style photograph):

• Full Name
• Full Date of birth
• Current place of residence (Country/Town)
• What type of passport (Nationality) do you intend to use for travel
• Current circumstances (eg Final Year School Student, University Undergraduate or Further Education Student, Graduate, Working (Full or P/T)
• Briefly describe your experience of working with younger students/children (Max 100 words).

Please do not submit an application form or payment for Gap 2026 until you have received a response to your emailed ‘Expression of Interest’.

Gap Year 2025: Applicants for 2025 may be accepted but in specific categories only. While it is very late in the application season for next year, we are asked to respond to some late-notice requests from UK schools each year. Please send us a brief email answering the 6 questions given above. Advice will be given according to your own specific requirements and circumstances.
