Your use of our website constitutes your acceptance of the following terms and conditions. The Gap Network reserves the right to change these terms and conditions at any time by making changes online. You are responsible for regularly reviewing information posted on our website and your continued use of our site after changes are made constitutes your acceptance of any modifications.
These terms and conditions shall be governed by and in accordance with the laws of Australia. Disputes arising from them shall be exclusively subject to the jurisdiction of Australian courts.
2. LIABILITY
The Gap Network accepts no liability for any decisions made by you based on any information obtained either directly or indirectly from information contained in this website.
3. REPRODUCTION OF MATERIAL
Material may not be copied, reproduced, republished, downloaded, posted, broadcast or transmitted in any way except for your own personal non-commercial use. You agree not to adapt, alter or create a derivative work from any material contained in this website, or use it for any other purpose than for your personal non-commercial use.
4. ACCEPTANCE AND AGREEMENT
The Gap Network offers applicants a gap placement on the strict understanding that the applicant has read and understood the following conditions and accepts to agree and abide by them.
Each applicant and parent or guardian accepts all the inherent risks of a gap year and all activities associated or ancillary thereto.
By signing the acceptance form the applicant or where the applicant is under the age of 18 years his/her parent or legal guardian agrees to be bound by the conditions set out in this agreement.
5. HEALTH AND FITNESS REQUIREMENTS
It is the obligation of each applicant to ensure that he/she is in good health prior to departure. Each applicant confirms that he/she has answered the questions on the Application Form and other requisite medical forms accurately and agrees to promptly inform The Gap Network if any of the information supplied becomes incorrect before accepting a gap placement.
6. DOCUMENTATION
Each applicant is responsible for obtaining and having available the necessary documents including visas to enable him/her to work as a gap assistant and agrees to comply with all legislation, immigration, customs and foreign exchange regulations of the country in which they are placed as a gap assistant.
7. INSURANCE
The Gap Network requires each applicant to take out comprehensive travel insurance. The cost of insurance is in addition to the price quoted for the gap placement fee. Full details of a suggested insurer and policy are available on request. Each applicant must decide what supplementary cover he/she requires.
8. PRICES
The prices quoted include payment of a non-refundable application fee of $195 AUD plus GST ($214.50) and on acceptance of a gap placement the payment of a non-refundable fee of $2200 AUD plus GST ($2420.00) . The receipt of the gap placement fee ($2200 AUD plus GST) ensures the applicant secures a gap placement.
Each applicant is responsible for:
· Arrangement and payment of all his/her costs for passports, visa and UK Health Care Surcharge
· Organisation and payment of airfares, transfers and airport taxes
· Arrangements and payment of comprehensive travel insurance
· Providing his/her own prescribed medical requirements, personal equipment and clothing.
9. CANCELLATION
The gap placement fee of $2200 AUD plus GST is a non-refundable charge. No refunds will be provided for a change of mind. Where there are exceptional and extenuating personal circumstances, The Gap Network may exercise discretion in arranging a refund (full or partial). Such applications will be considered on a case by case basis and must be verified in writing by an approved and independent third party.
